James relocated to Florida in 2014, moving from Arizona, which had been his home and birthplace. Living in the dry desert all his life, he grew a great fondness for the green landscapes of Florida and the added plus of having close access to the beaches on both the coasts of Florida, which James enjoys escaping to when time permits. In 2024, James joined the team at CPS as Tax Manager, a role in which he strives to provide high quality services to the clients in their tax related needs.
Growing up in Arizona, he was raised on his family’s cotton farm, where he gained an appreciation for being outdoors and working the land. James found that he was drawn to the business part of farming and at an early age realized that he had a talent for accounting. After the family sold the farming business, he began to pursue a career in public accounting.
In 1992, James earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from DeVry University in Phoenix, Arizona. Following graduation, he went to work for a public accounting firm, working in both the areas of assurance services and tax compliance. At the same time, he began studying for the CPA examination and received his CPA license in 1994. James has worked in roles progressively increasing in responsibility over the span of his career that has provided him with a broad, and sound base of expertise, experience and professionalism supporting the services he provides today.
James is married to the love of his life, best friend, and partner. She has provided support and encouragement through each step of his career. Together, they have raised two wonderful daughters, which they feel is their greatest accomplishment. They are very proud that both of their daughters have begun their own careers in accounting.
In his spare time James enjoys being outdoors hiking and biking. Most of all, he values spending quality time with his family, and enjoys spoiling the grandchildren with truly magical experiences.
