Born in Mobile, Alabama to a father still in med school and a mother in the medical field, Richard moved around a lot when he was young due to his father’s career. He and his family found their way to Lakeland, when he was 12 years old to live closer to relatives. For that reason, Richard has been known to say he was “not born, but raised” a Lakelander. His passion for the local community only grew as he attended Florida Southern College receiving his bachelor’s degree of business administration in 2019 and achieved his MBA in 2021 while already working as a financial advisor. Richard enjoys using the skills he picked up through his MBA to help clients look at their finances like they are their own CEO!
It can’t be all work and no play though, so in his free time, Richard enjoys fitness, cooking, and gardening with his wife Cora and their mini-labradoodle, Eve. When it comes to cooking, Cora and Eve are “better food critics than chefs”. Richard, however, always appreciates the constructive criticism they provide. Through both gardening and fitness, Richard has learned the importance of planning ahead, consistency, and patience. With both, you reap what you sow, and consistent effort pays off. These are lessons he makes good use of in his career as a financial advisor.
Richard holds various insurance licenses including health, life, fixed and variable annuities along with his series 65. Looking to the future, Richard plans on pursuing his Certified Financial Planner™ designation to better serve his client and is looking forward to a long career of growth alongside his team at CPS.
