Robert M. Eckenroth

CPA, MBA

Financial Advisor

Bob is from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, home of the Amish, and after graduating with a degree in Accounting from Grove City College in Western Pennsylvania, he entered the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. During this time, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, and together they traveled to Castle AFB in Merced, CA and then on to Taipei Air Station, Taiwan. He was a member of the US Air Force Audit Agency and completed the CPA exam in Agana, Guam.

After the Air Force, Bob enrolled at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, where he earned his MBA. He then went on to join Price Waterhouse & Co. in their Washington, DC office performing audit and tax work and received his CPA certification. Later becoming the Manager of Income Tax Accounting in the Corporate Accounting Department of Marriott international in Bethesda, MD, his experience would have him selected for the position of CFO for Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation in Lakeland, FL.

Though Bob retired from Marriott after 30 years, he was in no way ready to settle down. With a true passion for helping clients achieve financial independence, he joined CPS in 2015 after completing the Series 65 exam. Bob believes that the most important thing is developing an action plan, jointly with his clients, to accomplish their financial goals. He is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish that mission.

Bob currently serves on the Boards of Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine and the Grande Ocean Resort in Hilton Head, SC. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Lakeland Rotary Club.

Bob and Bonnie have four children, living in Florida, California and Thailand. Besides family vacations at the beach, Bob and Bonnie enjoy running and skiing, most recently in Breckenridge, CO. They have especially enjoyed running the Gasparilla 15K and 5K with their children, and now the grandchildren.
